This calculator computes the charges of fuel and gas mileage. It consists of 4 formulas:
It is calculated using the following formula FE=D/F
where D is the Distance Traveled and F is the fuel consumed
Example: Consider a vehicle covering a distance of 20 miles and consumed a fuel of 5 liquid gallon, hence calculate the gas mileage used.
FE=D/F
FE= 20mi/5gal
FE= 4mi/gal
It calculated by the following formula: TC=(D/MPG).P
Where D is the trip distance in miles
MPG is the fuel efficiency in miles
(P) is the gas price in US dollars
Example: Consider a vehicle covering a distance of 40 miles. With fuel efficiency of 10 miles and the cost of the gas price is 20USD. Calculate the fuel cost
TC=(D/MPG).P
TC=(40/10)20
TC=80USD
Calculated using the following formula: FE = Gas Price*Gas Added
Example: If the vehicle consumed a gas of 20 gal at the filling station. If the gas price is 5 USD, calculate the fill expense of the gas.
FE = Gas Price*Gas Added
FE= 5*20
FE = 100 USD
Calculated using the following formula
UC=Price/Mileage
Example: Consider a car travelling and consumed a gas at a gas mileage of 8 mi/gal. If the gas price costs 132 USD, calculate the unit cost for the gas
UC=Price/Mileage
UC = 132/8
UC = 16.5 USD/mil
It computes the total fuel cost of idling an engine based on the fuel consumption rate at idle (R), the cost of fuel (C) and the duration of time at idle (I).
It uses the following formula: fc=0.6.c.I.1
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
(R) Fuel consumption rate at idle (e.g. 0.6 gallons per hour)
(C) Cost of fuel
(I) Time duration at idle
(n) Number of vehicles at idle.
It calculated by the following formula: TC=(D/MPG).P as shown in the link above.
Where D is the trip distance in miles
MPG is the fuel efficiency in miles
(P) is the gas price in US dollars
