The Fabric Basket Dimensions Equation computes the dimension of the piece of fabric needed to make a fabric basket of the given dimensions
The Basket Dimensions Given Fabric Size computes the size of the finished basket (l x w x h) given the dimensions (a x b c) of a piece of fabric.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
length (l) = length of the finished basket
width (w) = width of the finished basket
height (h) = height of finished basket
Fabric Basket Dimensions Calculator (): The results are returns in units of inches. However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
Basket Making Directions with Attached Lining:
- Supplies
- 2 pieces of outer fabric cut to size a, b, and c
- 2 pieces of lining fabric cut to size a, b, and c
- 2 pieces of interfacing cut to size a, b, and c
- 2 pieces for handle
- Instructions
- Cut fabric, lining and interfacing based on dimensions a, b, and c
- Cut fabric for handle
- Attach interfacing to wrong side of outer fabric and handle
- with right sides together, sew outer fabric pieces together along the bottom (where cutouts are)
- with right sides together, sew lining pieces together along the bottom (where cutouts are)
- Attach handles to OUTSIDE of outer fabric (use location provided in equation results)
- With right sides together, sew outer fabric to lining along the top edge (match lining to lining and outer fabric to outer fabric)
- with right sides together, stitch outer fabric pieces together along side seams
- press seam open and topstitch
- flip right side out
- box bottom (match bottom seam to side seam and stitch the diagonal)
- flip and stitch boxed bottom on lining side
- topstitch top edge

Basket Making Directions with Loose Lining:
- with right sides together, sew outer fabric pieces together along the bottom (where cutouts are)
- press seam open and topstitch
- with right sides together, stitch outer fabric pieces together along side seams
- press seam open and topstitch
- box bottom (match bottom seam to side seam and stitch the diagonal)
- flip right side out
- attach handles to sides - equal distance from side seam - with 1/4" seam allowance
- REPEAT steps 4-8 for lining
- place outside fabric INTO lining (right sides together)
- sticth top leaving a gap to flip
- flip and topstich top edge
