Deck Boards are the surface materials used to create the walking area of a deck. They are laid horizontally over the deck frame and can be made from various materials, each with different benefits in terms of durability, maintenance, and appearance.

Common Types of Deck Boards

    • Pressure-Treated Lumber – Affordable and widely used, but requires maintenance.
    • Cedar & Redwood – Naturally resistant to rot and insects, but more expensive.
    • Hardwoods (Ipe, Teak, Mahogany) – Extremely durable and dense, but costly.
  2. Composite Deck Boards
    • Made from a mix of wood fibers and plastic, offering low maintenance and resistance to rot, fading, and insects. Popular brands include Trex, TimberTech, and Fiberon.
  3. PVC Deck Boards
    • 100% synthetic, lightweight, waterproof, and highly resistant to mold and stains.
  4. Aluminum Deck Boards
    • Strong, weather-resistant, and low maintenance, but less common and more expensive.
