Taco

A taco is a traditional Mexican dish consisting of a small, folded or rolled tortilla (typically made of corn or flour) filled with a variety of ingredients. Tacos can be served soft (with a soft tortilla) or hard (with a crispy, fried tortilla shell).

Common Taco Fillings:

  • Meats: Grilled chicken, beef (carne asada), pork (carnitas or al pastor), fish, shrimp, or chorizo.
  • Vegetarian Options: Beans, mushrooms, roasted vegetables, tofu, or plant-based proteins.
  • Toppings: Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, sour cream, avocado, guacamole, salsa, cilantro, and lime juice.
  • Sauces: Salsa verde, salsa roja, pico de gallo, hot sauce, or creamy chipotle sauce.

Tacos are often enjoyed as street food or in restaurants and can be customized in endless ways to suit different tastes!
