ICE HOCKEY STATISTICS

      Ice hockey, often referred to as hockey, is a team sport played on ice, in which skaters use wooden or composite sticks to shoot a hard rubber puck into their opponent's net. The game is played between two teams of six players each. Five members of each team skate up and down the ice trying to take the puck and score a goal against the opposing team. Each team has a goalie who tries to stop the puck from going into the goal or net.

However this calculator has been generated to calculate goal tender statistics focusing on  the defense and offense  state of a number of teams ie (m teams).

It has been divided into its two main categories 

  • Defensive
  • Offensive

    Defensive
    A defense strategy statistic will assist the coach in identifying the teams week points during a game thus the following are statistical requirements to calculate the defense strength of the team.

    Goalie Games Won Percentage = Games Won / ( Games Won + Lost + Tied )
    Goalie Saves = Shots On Goal - Goal Scored
    Saves Percentage = Goalie Saves / Shots On Goal
    Saves Ratio = Shots On Goal / Goalie Saves
                                 

    Offensive
    While on the offensive strategy the coach will be able to identify the scores rate and games won by the teams thus requires  the following statistical requirements to calculate the defense strength of the team.

    Scoring Percentage = ( Scoring Attempts - Goals Scored ) / Scoring Attempts
    Scoring Ratio = Shots On Goal / Goals Scored
    Scoring Points = Goals Scored + Assists
    Team Points = ( Team Won × 2 ) + Team Tied
    Games Won Percentage = Team Won / ( Team Won + Team Lost + Team Games Tied )
