The Extension Cord Max Wattage and Amps function outputs a Wattage and Amperage that may be supported by an extension cord based on input selection of wire gauge and length of extension cord.  The output Wattage should be the max power your  devices draws when attached to the chord of the selected length and gauge.

CHOOSE:

  • Length: 50 feet or100 feet
  • Guage: 16 gauge,14 gauge,12 gauge, or 10 gauge

Max Watts and Amps (W, A): The function returns the max watts and amps for the extension cord.

Note: These are approximations so it is always better to use a higher rated extension cord when the Wattage of your device approaches the maximum value shown.  These max Wattages should only be used as approximations and a professional electrician should be consulted where there is any chance of drawing more current than estimated.
