The Angular Frequency of a Pendulum calculator computes the angular frequency based on the length of the pendulum (L)  and the acceleration due to gravity (g).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose the preferred units and enter the following:

  • (L)  This is the length of the pendulum.

Angular Frequency: The calculator returns the angular frequency in radians.

The Math / Science

This equation calculates the angular frequency of a simple pendulum with a small amplitude.

This comes from the equation ω=km when k=mgL. After substituting this in, we get the resulting equation of ω=gL
