The Ideal Calorie Intake calculates the number of calories recommended based on factors such as weight, height, age, gender, and level of activity. This calculates the number of calories necessary to maintain your weight.  This formula is known as the Harris-Benedict principle. This equation may also be used to assist in weight loss by dropping Calorie intake below the recommended number.
