The Math / Science

The Molar Refractivity is a measure of total polarizability of a mole of a substance and is dependent o the temperature, the index of refraction, and the pressure. The formula for Molar Refractivity is:

        `A=(4pi)/3N_Aα`

where:

• A = Molar Refractivity
• N_A = Avogadro's constant
• α = mean polarizability of a molecule
