The Unit Cost or Average Total Cost calculator computes the average cost per item in the total.  In other words, when you go shopping and you by a box of dozen items, this tells you how much you're paying for each item in that dozen.  If you're sopping for something in bulk, it computes the price per unit volume.

Inputs

You can choose your own currency units for the total cost.  Two inputs common to your shopping experience.

  • (TC) Total Costs
  • (N) Quantity of Goods

Resultant

Unit Cost: The calculator computes the Unit Cost in U.S. dollars (USD) by default but you can choose to automatically converted into other currencies via the pull-down menu.

Examples

  1. You enter 16.75 as the Total Cost (TC)
  2. You enter the Quantity as number of unit pounds as 6.
  3. The equation computes for a single pound.$2.79

EX: You're an American in Europe and you select a box of 24 pens at a store.  The box is marked 34.33 Euros. you want to know what you're paying for each pen in dollars.

  1. You enter 34.33 as the Total Cost and change the units to Euros.
