The Restoring Force on a Pendulum calculator computes the restoring force (F) on a point mass pendulum based on the mass (m), acceleration due to gravity (g) and the displacement angle (θ).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose the preferred units and enter the following:

  • (m) This is the mass.
  • (θ) This is the angle of displacement.

Restoring Force(F): The calculator returns the force in Newtons (N).  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.  Note, this calculator uses the constant acceleration due to gravity at sea level.
