The dyn/cm2 unit is often used to measure pressures.  This is a very small pressure unit and is used in measurement of shear stresses. The Dyne per Square Centimeter is derived from the CGS unit of force.  1 Dyne is equal to 1 gram accelerated 1 centimeter per second squared. In the United States, the psi unit is the most used unit of pressure for most common everyday measurements of pressure.
