The `"dyn/""cm""^2` unit is often used to measure pressures.  This is a very small pressure unit and is used in measurement of shear stresses. The Dyne per Square Centimeter is derived from the CGS unit of force.  1 Dyne is equal to 1 gram accelerated 1 centimeter per second squared.  The Inch of Mercury is an American and British measurement unit for pressure.  An inch of mercury at zero degrees Celsius is defined as the pressure exerted by a column of mercury with a density of 13,595.1 kg/m3 under the pull of gravity at 9.80665 m/s2.  The inHg measurement is used quite often in meteorological studies when dealing with atmospheric pressure.
