The Total Number of Card in a standard deck is 52.  

This constant is the total number of cards in a standard deck.  The standard card deck is defined to have the following cards for each of four suites:

    the numeric cards  2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
     the face cards Jack, Queen, King
     and the Ace

The total number in any suit then is 13 and the total in the deck is the total number of cards in a suit multiplied by the number of suits, or `13 * 4 = 52`
