The Velocity with Drag equation computes an object's velocity after time, t, when we know the terminal velocity of the falling object.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (k) - the fluid resistance proportionality constant, which is dependent on the object's shape and size and  the resistive properties of the fluid
  • (vt- the terminal velocity of the falling object
  • (m) - the mass of the object
  • (t)- the time elapsed

Velocity with Drag (v): The calculator returns the velocity in meters per second.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
