The Volumetric Flow calculator compute the volume flow rate based on the cross-section area (A) and the flow velocity (v).

Volumetric Flow Rate (Q): The calculator returns the flow volume rate in liters per minute.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

This is the volume of fluid which passes through a given surface per unit time. Volumetric Flow (Q) is also known as volume velocity or volume flow rate or rate of fluid flow. This equation is frequently used in fluid dynamics and hydrometry.

The formula for volumetric flow is:

    Q = v • A

Where:

• Q=Volumetric Flow Rate
• v= Flow velocity
• A=Cross-sectional vector area
