A quadrilateral is a basic for sided shape.  To know the area, one must have the length of the four sides and the length of the diagonal.   The calculator compute the volume of garden stone to cover the area at the desired depth (d).  It then computes the number of bags needed.

• Cubic Yards: This is the standard unit for measuring bulk landscaping materials like river stone. One cubic yard is equal to 27 cubic feet.
• Tons: Some suppliers sell stone by weight. One ton of river stone typically covers about 80-100 square feet at a 2-inch depth, depending on the size of the stone.

Common Delivery Sizes:

• Half Yard to Full Yard: Smaller residential projects often order in increments of half or full cubic yards.
• 1-10 Tons: Larger landscaping projects might require multiple tons, and many suppliers deliver in truckloads of around 1 to 10 tons, depending on the customer’s needs.
• Bags: For smaller projects, river stone may be sold in bags, typically around 0.5 to 1 cubic foot per bag.
