Days until First Contact

On 5 April 2063, Zephram Cochrane makes first contact with the crew of a Vulcan survey ship, the T'Plana Hath, at a missile complex in Bozeman Montana.  The Vulcan's altered their course to come to Earth after they detected the warp signature of Cochrane's ship the Pheonix, Earth's first faster than light ship.  According to legend, the night before saw Cochrane drunk to inebriation.  When his co-pilot Lilly suggested that he had enough and that she didn't want to go up in the Pheonix with a drunk pilot, his response was, "Well, I'm sure as hell not going up there sober."  It is a recorded fact, that Chochrane played Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride during blast-off.
