The dyn/cm2 unit is often used to measure pressures. This is a very small pressure unit and is used in measurement of shear stresses. The Dyne per Square Centimeter is derived from the CGS unit of force. 1 Dyne is equal to 1 gram accelerated 1 centimeter per second squared. One bar equals exactly 100,000 Pascals. It is not an SI unit however it is used and recognized in many applications. The bar is often used as a measurement for atmospheric pressure.
