The Area of Stadium calculator computes the area of a geometric stadium based on the radius and length.

INSTRUCTIONS:  Choose units and enter the following:

  • (R) Radius of Stadium Ends
  • (L) Length of Stadium

Area of a Stadium (A): The calculator returns the area in square meters and the circumference in meters.  However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

In geometry, a stadium is regular shape that includes two identical circular ends and the area in-between them.  It could also be described as a rectangle with two opposite end elongated in to semi-circles.  The formula for the area of a stadium is:

     A=πR2+(L-2R)R
