The Math / Science

This equation computes the mass fraction of a substance in vapor phase from the mass in vapor and the mass in liquid.  The formula for the mass fraction of vapor phase is:

    x = m_g/(m_g + m_f)

where

• x is the mass fraction of the vapor phase
• m_g is the mass of vapor
• m_f is the mass of liquid
