This equation computes the surface finish component of the Fatigue Strength for a material.
In this case the Surface Factor, ka is associated with types of Surface Finishes. The Surface Factor is a function of factor, a, in MPa, and and exponent, b, estimated for different surface finishes. The chosen surface finish is an input choice as shown in the following table.
