Extension Cord Max Amperage

This equation outputs an Amperage that may be supported by an extension cord based on input selection of wire gauge and length of extension cord.  The calculated Amperage should be the max Amperage your devices draw when attached to the chord of the selected length and gauge. 

Note: These are approximations so it is always better to use a higher rated extension cord when the Amperage of your device approaches the maximum value shown.  These max Amperages should only be used as approximations and a professional electrician should be consulted where there is any chance of drawing more current than estimated.
