The Subtract Percentage calculator subtracts (discounts) a specified percentage, y, from an original amount, x.

Instructions:

  • Insert the desired value for x, the original amount to be decreased by a percentage
  • Insert the desired value for y, the additional percentage to decrease x
  • The result will then be returned

EXAMPLE:

If you have some value you want to decrease by a percentage, you are in essence performing the following:

Result = x-(y100x)x(y100x) = x(1-y100)x(1y100)

As an example 22,606 discounted by 8.5% would be:

Result = 22606(1-8.5100)22606(18.5100) = 226060.915226060.915 = 20684.49
