The Subtract Percentage calculator subtracts (discounts) a specified percentage, y, from an original amount, x.
Instructions:
EXAMPLE:
If you have some value you want to decrease by a percentage, you are in essence performing the following:
Result = x-(y100⋅x)x−(y100⋅x) = x⋅(1-y100)x⋅(1−y100)
As an example 22,606 discounted by 8.5% would be:
Result = 22606⋅(1-8.5100)22606⋅(1−8.5100) = 22606⋅0.91522606⋅0.915 = 20684.49
