The Angular Momentum calculator computes the angular momentum based on a moment of inertia and an angular velocity.

Angular Momentum (L): The calculator returns the angular momentum in kg·m³/s. 

The Math / Science

Angular momentum calculates the momentum of a rotating body.  Angular momentum and linear momentum gives the same idea, but first one is considered in the case of circular motion and latter one is in the case of linear motion.

The formula for Angular Momentum is:

L=I*ω

where:

  • L = Angular Momentum
  • I = the moment of inertia
  • ω= the angular velocity
