The Wavelength from Frequency  calculator computes the wavelength (λ) based on the RF frequency (ν) and the speed of light (c).

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (ν)  This is the frequency of the RF signal.

Wavelength (λ): The calculator returns the wavelength in meters.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

This equation uses the speed of light to relate the input wavelength to electromagnetic frequency and returns the corresponding frequency. It is understood that the relationship between frequency and wavelength is given by:

           c = λ • ν

where:

Therefore, the formula for the wavelength based on the frequency is:

      λ = c / ν

where:
