The coefficient of variation (CV) is also known as the percent relative standard deviation (%RSD).  The CV is a measure of the dispersion of a probability distribution.  Dividing the standard deviation by the mean of the data provides the relative magnitude of the standard deviation.  This equation returns the CV as the percentage.

The equation is shown as :
                 CV=  sˉx  x 100%      

where:    s = standard deviation for sample,   ˉx  = mean for sample
