Unit vector formula calculates the magnitude of a vector (V) in three dimensional space with units of length.

Description

This formula lets the user enter a three dimensional vector with X, Y and Z components of any length in any of vCalc's standard length units (SI, English, Other). /attachments/f5de4809-c738-11e4-a3bb-bc764e2038f2/V3 - Vector.png Vector in three dimensions This algorithm converts all of the components to a standard unit (meters) and calculates the magnitude of the vector |V|.   The magnitude is converted back to the user's specified units.

Visually, the magnitude of the vector is the length of measurement from the origin of the coordinate system to the end point of the vector.

Usage

This formula uses units of length.
