The Entropy Calculator is used to calculate the change in a reservoir by using Heat(Q) and Absolute Temperature(K).

 INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:

  • (Q) = Heat (J)

  • (T) = Absolute Temperature (K)

Entropy DeltaS = The calculator returns the change in entropy in Joules/Kelvin.

The Math / Science

Entropy has two ways to being defined:

  • A way to measure the amount of disorder in a system.
  • A measure of thermodynamic equilibrium.

DeltaS = Q/T

    where

  •     DeltaS = entropy (J/K)
  •     Q = Heat (J)
  •     T = Absolute Temperature (K)
