The Entropy Calculator is used to calculate the change in a reservoir by using Heat(Q) and Absolute Temperature(K).
INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:
-
(Q) = Heat (J)
-
(T) = Absolute Temperature (K)
Entropy DeltaS = The calculator returns the change in entropy in Joules/Kelvin.
The Math / Science
Entropy has two ways to being defined:
- A way to measure the amount of disorder in a system.
- A measure of thermodynamic equilibrium.
DeltaS = Q/T
where
- DeltaS = entropy (J/K)
- Q = Heat (J)
- T = Absolute Temperature (K)
