Renal Blood Flow [RPF1]

RBF=UPAHVUPPAH1-HCT
Hematocrit
Concentration of PAH in Plasma
Concentration of PAH in Urine
Volumetric Flow Rate of Urine

This equation computes the renal blood flow, RBF, from the renal plasma flow (as computed via the equation-in-equation for RPF1) and the volume percentage or red blood cells (the hematocrit).

Inputs to this equation are:

  • U_"PAH" - the urine concentration of para-aminohuippurate in the urine sample
  • P_"PAH" - the plasma concentration of para-aminohuippurate in the blood samplesample
  • P_"PAH" - the plasma concentration of para-aminohuippurate in the blood samplesample
  • HCT - the hematrocrit, also known as the packed cell volume (PCV) and the erythrocyte volume fraction (EVF)
