Mechanical Advantage - Pulleys

The Mechanical Advantage of a Movable Pulley formula is based on Mechanical Advantage Pulleythe number of lines that support the movable pulley. In the picture here, N1 and N2 are the lines that support the movable pulley. Thus the number of supporting lines is n = 2 and the mechanical advantage is 4.
