This equation computes the speed at which an electrochemical impulse propagates down a neural pathway. This speed is known as the Conduction Velocity.
The equation's variables are:
- Θ = conduction velocity
- I = capacitance
- A = cross-sectional area
- R = resistance
- d^2V/"dt"^2 = second derivative of membrane voltage to time (assumed in this case to be constant)
