The Volume of Concrete in a Footer calculator computes the volume of concrete in a complete rectangular footer (e.g. the footer under a rectangular house/building) based on the length and width of overall foot print and the depth and width of the footer channel (see diagram).
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (L) Footer Area Length
- (W) Footer Area Width
- (D) Footer Depth
- (T) Footer Channel Width
Volume of Concrete (V): The volume of concrete (V) needed for the footer is returned in cubic yards. However, this can be automatically converted into other volume units (e.g. cubic meters) via the pull-down menu. The calculator also returns the equivalent volume in bags of concrete:
- 40lb bag - units of 40 pound bags of concrete mix
- 60lb bag - units of 60 pound bags of concrete mix
- 80lb bag - units of 80 pound bags of concrete mix
Note: It is important to remember that the length and width of the footer are more than the length and width of the foundation.
