The Diagonal Pixel Resolution calculator compute the diagonal pixel resolution based on the width resolution and the height resolution of a screen.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

• (w_p) Width Resolution in pixels
• (h_p) Height Resolution in pixels

Diagonal Pixel Resolution (d_p):  The calculator returns the diagonal pixel resolution in pixels, and the pixilated area in square centimeters.  However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The Diagonal Pixel Resolution is used in calculating the Pixels Per Inch calculation.  The formula for diagonal pixel resolution is:

`d_p=sqrt(w_p^2+h_p^2`

where:

• w_p  = width resolution in pixels
• h_p = height resolution in pixels
