The Average number of Kernels on five ears of corn function computes the average number of kernels of five ears of corn.

INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:

  • (Ear 1) Enter the number of rows and kernels per row in ear 1 (e.g. 67,25) separated by commas.
  • (Ear 2) Enter the number of rows and kernels per row in ear 2 (e.g. 67,25) separated by commas.
  • (Ear 3) Enter the number of rows and kernels per row in ear 3 (e.g. 67,25) separated by commas.
  • (Ear 4) Enter the number of rows and kernels per row in ear 4 (e.g. 67,25) separated by commas.
  • (Ear 5) Enter the number of rows and kernels per row in ear 5 (e.g. 67,25) separated by commas.

Common Sense

The harvestable kernels are those that your combine will take off the cob, not on the tips (pinched ends).  So don't included those in your row count.
