The Surface Area of a Prism calculator computes the surface area of a prism (see graphic) based on the dimensions of the triangular side and the length.

(b) This is the base of the triangular side.
(h) This is the height of the triangular side.
(l) This is the length of the prism

Prism Surface Area: The calculator returns the volume (A) in square centimeters. However, this can be automatically converted to other units via the pull-down menu.

The formula for the surface area of a triangular prism is:

$TSA = b•h + b•l + 2•l•sqrt((b/2)^2 + h^2)$

where:

TSA is the total surface area of the triangular prism
b is the base
h is the height
l is the length
