The Volume of Curved Bowl calculator computes the volume of symmetrical curved bowl based on the depth and width.

• (D) - the depth of the bowl
• (W) - the width of the bowl.

Volume of a Curved Bowl (V): The volume (V) is returned in liters.  However, this can be automatically converted to other volume units (e.g. gallons or cubic inches) via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The shape of a curved bowl can be reasonable estimated by assuming that the bowl is the carved out space of a rotating parabola.  This makes the volume of the bowl to be the volume of a paraboloid.
