The Acceleration (Velocity, Time) calculator computes the average acceleration of an object given the change in time and the change in velocity

• (Δt) Change in time.

Acceleration (a): The calculator returns the acceleration in meters per second squared.  However, this can be automatically converted to other acceleration units via the pulld-down menu.

The Math / Science

The formula for acceleration is:

    a = Δv / Δt

where:

• a is the constant average acceleration 
• Δv is the change in velocity
• Δt is the change in time
