The Ceiling Tiles for a Room calculator computes the number of ceiling tiles needed to cover the ceiling of a room based on the dimensions of the room and the tiles.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

  • (W) Width of Room
  • (L) Length of Room
  • (CTW) Ceiling Tile Width
  • (CTL) Ceiling Tile Length

Number of Ceiling Tiles (nCT): The calculator returns the number of ceiling tiles and the total surface area of the room.

The Math / Science

Acoustic ceiling tiles cover the ceiling of a room.  The calculator computes the square feet of the ceiling based on the dimensions, and then computes the number of tiles to cover the area.
