The Cost of Hay calculator computes the cost of a combination of first and second cut hay including a delivery charge.

• (FCP) Price of First-cut bales
• (nFC) Number of First-cut bales
• (SCP) Price of Second-cut bales
• (nSC) Number of Second-cut bales
• (DC)  Delivery Charge

Cost of Hay (TC): The cost is returned in U.S. dollars. However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The Math / Science

The Cost of Hay equation computes the cost of a combination of first and second-cut bales of hay delivered.  The formula for cost of hay is:

TC = FCP*nFC + SCP*nSC + DC

where:

• TC = Total Cost of Delivered Hay
• FCP = Cost of a First-cut Bale of Hay
• nFC = Number of First-cut Bales Purchased
• SCP = Cost of a Second-cut Bale of Hay
• nSC = Number of Second-cut Bales Purchased
• DC = Delivery Charge
