Ag Panel Metal roofs are typically connected to purlins or sub-boards
using special screws that self-start through the metal and have a rubber collar to seal out water (see image).
The Total Cost of Screws for a Gabled Metal Roof calculator computes the area of the roof based on the ridge length, span, overhang and pitch of a gabled roof (see diagram). It then calculates the number of screws needed based on 75 screws per 100 ft2 of roof. Once the number of required screws is known, the formula for the total cost of metal screws for a gabled roof is:
TC = nS * uP
where:
- TC = Total Cost of specialty metal screws for a gabled roof.
- nS = Number of Screws
- uP = Unit Price per Screw
The default unit pricing of $0.09 USD per screw is from an Ag Panel pricing survey that includes the unit price of metal panel screws.
