The Math / Science
This is a calculator meant to help in calculating the cost of cigarettes to smokers overs a specific period of time(basically one month). The formula for the Cost to Smoke is:
CtS = (nC/CPP)*PPP
where:
CtS = Cost to Smoke per Day
nC = Number of Cigarettes Smoked per Day
CPP = Cigarettes per Pack
PPP = Price per Pack
In 2024, the average retail price for cigarettes in the United States ranged from $4.38 per pack in Missouri to $10.45 per pack in New York State. The most common size of a pack of cigarettes is 20, but can range substantially.
