The Metal Siding for a Wall calculator computes the number of vertical panels and other metal siding materials for a rectangular wall based on the dimensions.
INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:
- (H) Height
- (L) Length
- (PW) Panel Width (default 36"). This is the coverage width and not necessarily the measured width of the metal panels.
- (OX) Adder to Panel Length. If you want the panels to have extra length.
Metal Siding for Wall (m): The calculator returns:
- (TA) Area: Total surface area of wall.
- (nS) Number of Screws: Total number of metal screws based on 75 screws per 100 ft2.
- (nP) Number of Panels: This is the number of panels needed.
- (lP) Length of Panels: This is the length of the panels including the adder (OX)
- (TL) Total Linear Feet: This is the total linear feet of panels needed.
However, these can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.
The Math / Science
Because it is better to have too much and to cut it, than not enough, an additional 3" are added to the panel lengths.
