The Square Meters to Acres calculator computes the number of acres equivalent to a number of square meters.

The Math / Science
The picture shows a clip from Google Maps (maps.google.com). If you turn on the satellite feature, you can see the features of land. If you right click on a corner you will see the small menu with the option to "Measure distance". This lets you click a path. If you notice, the graphic clicks the path that encloses a field. When you enclose an area, Google provides a calculation of the area in square meters. In this case, it was 4,662.07 m2. But what is that in acres? This calculator converts square meters to acres. In our example, that turned into 1.152 acres.
How to measure the acres of an field:
- Find the field on Google maps.
- Switch to Satellite View
- Right click to "Measure Distance"
- Left click out the perimeter of the field.
- Convert the square meters to acres using vCalc.
