The Tree Ring Edging calculator computes the perimeter (circumference) of a tree ring and the number of edging product units needed to outline the tree ring based on the ring's diameter.

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose units and enter the following:

(D) Diameter of Tree Ring
(UL) Border Unit Length

Tree Ring Units (nTR): The calculator returns the circumference of the tree ring and the number of border units to edge the tree ring, and the number of standard 2 cubic foot bags of mulch to cover area 2" deep in mulch.

The circumference of the circular tree ring is:

c = 2 ⋅ π ⋅ (D/2)

where:

c = circumference of the tree ring
D = diameter of the circular tree ring
