The Distance Between Two Points calculator computes the linear distance between two points in a plane.

INSTRUCTIONS: Enter the following:

(X₁ , Y₁) This is the X and Y values for point 1 (e.g. 3.3 5.6)
(X₂ , Y₂) This is the X and Y values for point 2. (e.g. 7.9 2.3)

Distance between Points (D): The calculator returns the distance between the points. It assumes the units for the distance are the same units for the output.

The formula for the mid-point between two points is:

where:

MP is the mid-point between the two points.
X₁ is the x coordinate of point 1
X₂ is the x coordinate of point 2
Y₁ is the y coordinate of point 1
Y₂ is the y coordinate of point 2
