Vessel Displacement Volume

The Vessel Displacement Volume calculator computes the volume displacement of a vessel in cubic feet based on the weight displacement (tons, pounds, kilograms).

• (VDW) Vessel Displacement Weight

Volume Displacement Volume (VDV): The calculator returns the volume displacement in cubic feet.  However, this can be automatically converted to compatible units via the pull-down menu.

The formula used for the Vessel Displacement Volume is:

VDV = VDW / MDSW

where:

• VDV = Vessel Displacement Volume
• VDW = Vessel Displacement Weight
• MDSW = Mean Density of Sea Water
