The Automotive Geometry Calculator contains/attachments/daabdff1-734f-11e5-a3bb-bc764e2038f2/Camber.png     Camber Angle, Offset and Drop  geometry formulas related to the Camber angle, Ground Clearance and Approach/Departure Angle.

Instructions

The formulas in this calculator compute the following:

  1. Camber Angle - This formula uses the Camber Offset (o) and the height (h) of the tire to compute the Camber Angle (Φ).
  2. Camber Offset- This formula uses the Camber Angle (Φ) and the height (h) of the tire to compute the Camber Offset (o)./attachments/daabdff1-734f-11e5-a3bb-bc764e2038f2/Approach.png   Approach and Departure Angles
  3. Camber Ground Clearance Reduction- This formula uses the Camber Angle and tire height to compute the reduction in ground clearance a.k.a. camber drop.
  4. Approach or Departure Angle- This formula computes the maximum approach angel (α) that a vehicle can climb without impact to the undercarriage based on specific measurements.
  5. Breakover Angle- This formula computes the breakover angle () based on the wheelbase (wb) and the ground clearance (gc) (see diagram)/attachments/daabdff1-734f-11e5-a3bb-bc764e2038f2/BreakOver.jpg                                    Breakover Angle
