The Automotive Geometry Calculator contains Camber Angle, Offset and Drop geometry formulas related to the Camber angle, Ground Clearance and Approach/Departure Angle.
Instructions
The formulas in this calculator compute the following:
Camber Angle - This formula uses the Camber Offset (o) and the height (h) of the tire to compute the Camber Angle (Φ).
Camber Offset- This formula uses the Camber Angle (Φ) and the height (h) of the tire to compute the Camber Offset (o). Approach and Departure Angles
Camber Ground Clearance Reduction- This formula uses the Camber Angle and tire height to compute the reduction in ground clearance a.k.a. camber drop.
Approach or Departure Angle- This formula computes the maximum approach angel (α) that a vehicle can climb without impact to the undercarriage based on specific measurements.
Breakover Angle- This formula computes the breakover angle (B°) based on the wheelbase (wb) and the ground clearance (gc) (see diagram) Breakover Angle
