Kurt Heckman is the co-founder of vCalc along with Adam Siegel and David Reumont.
Kurt is a career aerospace engineer where he developed algorithms to command, control and monitor satellites in Earth orbit. He has a degree in mathematics and has a strong working knowledge in both physics and software engineering including artificial intelligence. Prior to vCalc, Kurt was the President of Sycamore.US which he also co-founded and served as the President and CEO through all 14 years of Sycamore's existence. Sycamore, at the time it was acquired by KEYW, had 165 employees serving the US aerospace and intelligence communities.
After Sycamore, Kurt served in the US Department of Energy in the leadership team as an appointee from 2018 to 2021. He was initially a special assistant in the DOE Office of Science with a focus on Nuclear Fusion, High Energy Physics and Advance Scientific Computer Research, and then served as a Director in the Office of the Secretary, managing the DOE's advisory committees. In this role, he also served as the Secretary's Designated Federal Officer (DFO) for the Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board (SEAB), where he managed multiple studies for the Secretary along with global experts in AI, space sciences and in mission branding.
Kurt's passion for vCalc comes from a strong desire to help people solve real-world problems. He and his team build free online tools that provide millions of solutions every month to people around the globe that use vCalc 16k+ calculator tools.
