The Restoring Torque on a Physical Pendulum calculator computes the torque due to the gravitational force on a physical pendulum which causes the pendulum to be "restored" or driven toward its equilibrium point. 

INSTRUCTIONS: Choose the preferred units and enter the following:

• (m) This is the mass of the pendulum
• (d) This is the distance from the pivot to the center of gravity
• (θ) This is the angle of displacement.

Torque:  The calculator return the Restoring Torque (τ_z) in N•m.  However, this can be automatically converted to other equivalent units via the pull-down menu.

Note: this formula employs the constant Acceleration Due to Gravity at Sea-level on Earth (g = 9.80665 m/s²).
